My wonderful hubby and projects around the house.

A couple of weekends ago we visited some friends that are in the process of building a house. They were working on tiling their beautiful kitchen! So P and I got an itch to do some tile work ourselves in our kitchen. We've talked about it for a while, but seeing their kitchen really lit a fire under us. It seemed so simple, yet it added so much to the space!

Thankfully my hard-working hubby loves a new project and once he gets started on something it's hard to get him to stop. We traveled to Lowe's on a Saturday afternoon and my kitchen was tiled and grouted by Tuesday evening! Gotta love this man! The girls and I agree he made our kitchen look new again!

Pictures of the final product to come soon!

Muscadine Jelly.....yum!

A few weekends ago I decided to make some muscadine jelly. The jelly turned out pretty good, but it was a little stringy. Tasted yummy, so it didn't really matter! We had a few more muscadines hanging on the vines, so I decided to try it again. That batch was almost ready, then BAM it stuck to the bottom and burnt the whole thing! I was soooooo mad!!! All that hard work and nothing to show for it.

I had all but given up when Papa Perry and Mimi shared their muscadines with us. Even though it was late, my wonderful hubby stayed up with me and helped peel and separate all the berries. The next night we cooked them down and canned them.  The jelly is a little thin, but overall it turned out pretty good!

Fresh from the vine!

All peeled and separted! I didn't know both parts were used to make the jelly! Nothing but the seeds are discarded!

Pouring the jelly into jars.

Look at all those wonderful Christmas presents for this year! ;)

Shelby finaly gave up and decided to take a nap when none of the muscadines fell on the floor!

Katie's baby shower

I feel like I did not stop moving this weekend! It was one big thing after another, but thankfully they were all fun!!! We started Friday night with a girls night! Alice, Katie, Celeste, Lindsey, Wendy, Katie's Abby and I went out to eat for some yummy BBQ. After chatting and hanging out for a while, Alice, Celeste and I headed back to my house to make 12 dozen mini cupcakes! Yep, you read that right....we made 144 mini cupcakes! Thanks, I couldn't have done it without you girls!!

After getting to bed at 12:30 A.M., I got up early to go set up for Katie's baby shower. We had a blast and it turned out just beautifully! The food was scrumptious and the gifts were adorable! Here are a few snapshots of the morning:

Only 6 weeks left!

Our super yummy, homemade cupcakes! Thanks Alice for

Okay so this is a must have shot every time the four of us are together.
We all four graduated together (10 years ago this year)! It's
not very often that we all manage to be in the same place at the same time!

On the road again...

On the road again....

We left quite early for this trip to North Carolina. Since we were testing out the Trooper and it has no air, the earlier we left, the better! The trooper actually did pretty good. It got us from point A to point B and back to point A again, so I consider that a success!

Here she is all geared up with the new Yakima rack and our canoe.

P and Pop hanging out at the cabin.

Saturday morning we decided to check out a local festival in downtown Murphy. We thought with this being the 10th annual Heritage Walk and Festival, they would have a lot of things going on. Ummmm...not so much! We were a bit disappointed, but it gave us time to just walk around and hang out with the girls.

Miss Priss begged me to let her carry the little camera with her so she could capture all the memories for us! Here is some of her handy work!

Here are a couple of shots I took while walking around:

Since we brought the canoe, we had to take it out at least once! So Sunday morning while the girls were at church with Granny T and Papa Jim, P and I talked Pop (okay so I talked Pop) into following us down to Lake Nantahala to take some pictures. The pictures just don't do the scenery justice! It was a gorgeous day. I could have stayed forever!

Thanks again Pop for taking pictures for me!!! I love these! You did a wonderful job as usual.

P wouldn't let me take my expensive camera on the canoe trip (and rightfully so, but I still don't want to admit it!), so I had to settle for the little camera. It did okay I guess!

My guide who can drive the mess out of a canoe!

Me trying to take pictures of the both of us.

P taking the camera from me so I could be in some pictures too!

Again, we had a fabulous time in North Carolina! Hopefully we can go back during the fall to catch some of the leaves changing colors! Thanks again for letting us enjoy the beautiful cabin Granny T and Jim!! :) We told you it wouldn't go un-used!!
