Around the house in Sept

I'm official!

Getting new gravel by the shop. Much needed in this muddy space.
The wood shed is ready for some firewood!

Firewood ready for the wood shed. Thankfully there's a lot of dead fall and stuff that needs to be cut up for firewood around here.

Moving the wood from up around the house...
to the shop where the wood shed is.

All hands on deck!

Let the painting begin! Apparently we like a lot of brown.

All hands on deck again!!

Took a short break from painting to dump so more gravel. He's a pro.

Back to painting again.

I promise I was painting too!

Shop is almost done!
The garage desperately needs a fresh coat too.

The little relaxing and enjoying the day while the big girls and I paint.

Ta-da! Much better.

Granny T and Papa Jim have been our most frequent visitors.
It pays to have a cabin less than 30 minutes away.

On to the inside. These colors were awful. Time to make them more earth toned and homey.

These long summers days have them worn out!

Our new grill/outdoor stove burners. Perry built the cabinet around it from some scraps and the two wings from the sink we moved in downstairs. I have a feeling we'll be out here a lot.

EC taking advantage of all that room in the new sink downstairs.

Gluten free bread Abby made. Yummy and so fluffy!
Yummy shepherd's pie I made. I really shared this picture more for the back ground. You can see the floor and the dining room is finally box free!!

Garden

We arrived at the new homestead just in time to harvest all the yummy pears!! Abby made pear butter, pear preserves and pear wine. Yummy!!

Perry planted a winter crop as soon as possible too. We had kale, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, radishes, turnip greens and more. I'm already thinking about how we're going to take all this stuff to the farmer's market next year and what to name the farm.

School year 2020-2021 begins

It's time for a new school year to begin! This year we waited until after Labor Day to get started with our official classes. We've had a lot going on and it just worked out that way. This year we have a Senior, Freshman, Kindergartener and K-3 man. We haven't found a co-op yet, but hopefully soon.
