Around the house in April

Ben Ben and Baby Kitty. He has Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty. Lord help if they're nowhere to be found come bed time.

Poor Scully has to wear the shock collar. We couldn't trust her at the outfitter. She barked at everyone and would run off in the parking lot.

I pulled up at Target and look who pulled up right next to me!

Whittling a stick with his first little knife (a butter knife). He love knives already! He's also going around in just underwear and no pants since we've started the potty training process. Fingers crossed.

Playing in Dada's shop.

Cool bag Abby sewed in Fiber Arts class.

A remake of a picture of Abby and Emily when we first moved into this house.

My little cucumber diva!

Family photo shoot for the outfitter

A local photographer and friend of Keri's asked if she could use the outfitter as a backdrop for some photo shoot minis. She said she would photograph our family as payment so of course I agreed. I love the photos she took and we used them to introduce ourselves to the world as the owners and operators of the hottest new thing in town. They turned out perfect to showcase our family and the outfitter.

Greenhouse goodies

The tomato plants are growing like crazy and will be ready to go to their new gardens soon. The annual plant sale always begins the first weekend in April. That just happens to be the same weekend the outfitter opens. I hope I can keep my sanity running back and forth between both. I wouldn't want it any other way though!

Ben brought some of his tomato plants over for the sale too.

The weather has allowed us to remove the second greenhouse cover.

We added a few flowers to the sale this year too.

EC modeling Mama's new hat.

She wanted me to take her picture smelling the Iris.

Take my picture too!

Just too darn cute!

They are officially ready to go home with their new gardeners. Let the sale begin.

Planting our tomatoes.

Grow little babies grow.

One of my favorite views of the farm.

The greenhouse and some very interesting lines in the sky.

Open for business!

Saturday, April 6, 2019 and we are officially opened for business. The first weekend was a hit. The weather was great, the water level was great, our new customers and friends were great! We couldn't have asked for any better. Looks like this thing just might work! My office buddy is ready for our first customers!

We refer to campsite 4 as the fishing spot. It's where our family likes to fish and just hang out by the water. Perry carved out a little trail and opened up a spot right under a large tree so you feel all nestled in. It's the furthest and most secluded campsite we have. I have a feeling it will stay booked up.

We knew we wanted outfitter signs, but when I found the kayaking one I knew we had to have it. It's just perfect!!

Looking down the trail into campsite 4.

Perry took Ben and Donna on a guided tour. They loved it too!

Perry helping Donna get settled.

Abby hanging out at campsite 3.

Campsite 3 is probably the most popular site. With room to spread out, this site is made for larger groups or multiple families. It has easy access to the creek, a small field right in front and a nestled in the woods kind of feel. We've been camping here as a family for a few years now!

Perry did a lot of guided tours for family. Poor thing had a kayak so much. lol

Abby Hill paddled with us and I used this picture a lot for advertising.

Perry and Dave headed out to make sure the creek is clear of debris.

Ah. I can smell the fire from here. What a lovely spring we are having.

Our first official campers! This was a group of 8-10 year old boys celebrating a birthday party. They camped out here at campsite 3 and then got up the next morning to kayak. Now that's my kind of birthday party!

This is seriously my favorite thing about the outfitter. The lights are just heavenly!

The office greeter.

Helping Pop put out wood chips. Since Alabama Power was trimming along our road, Perry asked them to dump the wood chips in the field. They made wonderful covers for the paths and Perry even made a bridge out of them over the muddy spot on the trail.

Cool little chair Perry made from 2 pieces of wood that slide together.

One of our very first customers, Chris and Kristine Lay. Chris found this civil war dime down at the take out. He gave it to us to keep at the outfitter. The Lay family have become regulars!

This outfitter business is tiring!

EC and Ashton ready for their trip down Big Canoe Creek.

Perry took Ben, Donna, Brian, Dez, EC, Ashton, Abby and Emily down the creek.

EC's 2nd trip down the creek. She's hooked!

Benjamin ready to do some fishing!

EC loves to fish too!

Making sure they get their water intake.

Lots of rain came our way and we won't be able to send folks out today.

Hanging out in Carolyn's chair.

Normal water levels are back and we're ready to go out again.

Carolyn had to come over and teach Benjamin how to cast.

Loving these lights.
