Around the house in January

My cute little Davy Crockett.

Benjamin, Lucy and Ella Claire playing dress up. We only have a few more weeks left with Miss Lucy Lou. I can't believe she's about to be 3 years old. She has stayed with us since she was 16 months old.

Just a boy and his dog enjoying an afternoon stroll.

Scully bug.

When the weather is warm enough to play in the rain, you play in the rain!

We almost decided to use the Vibe kayaks for the outfitter. SO glad we went with the Jacksons instead. This is the Vibe tandem and it is so heavy. The littles loved playing in it until we finally sold it.
One of my favorite pictures. Just too funny.

Abby turns 16!

Another year has passed. I know I say it every year, but it's still hard to believe my oldest is getting so old. I couldn't ask for a better teenager. She's smart, funny, caring, loving, talented and all the rest. Happy Sweet 16 Abigail Brooke!

Emily baked her a cheesecake.

Mama cooked her traditional biscuit and gravy breakfast.

EC wanted her picture made with the birthday girl.

Pop and Nonna brought Abby her favorite Chinese food for lunch as well as her birthday gift, her
low D Irish whistle!

More food!! Her favorite corned beef and cabbage for dinner.

We officially have a licensed driver. Good job Abby!!

Abby took a fiber arts class last semester where she learned the basics of knitting, crocheting, sewing and embroidery. Of course she excelled in them all! She wanted to continue with her knitting so she and I made a trip to Gadsden to the Taming of the Ewe yarn and tea shop. She bought some nice merino wool yarn that her Daddy would like and asked the ladies there to help her make a hat. They helped her get started and she was finished with the bulk of the hat in no time! Perry and I took her back to the shop to learn how to finish the hat. The ladies were so impressed with her that they took a picture of the final hat on Perry with Abby and put it on their facebook page. He loves his hat by the way!!!

Late 2018 Christmas party at Granny T's

This year's Christmas party was delayed a little, but we were still able to get together. As usual we had a great time. From left to right back row - Turner, Robert, Pop, Benjamin, Nonna, Me, Perry and Ella Claire. Front row - Taylor, Emily, Granny T, Jim and Abby.

And the spoon trophy comes back to its rightful owner. The only reason it ever left was because I was too pregnant to bend over and win the game.

Progress on the outfitter

The outfitter is coming along. The deck has now been stained, the kayaks have been bought and stored, signs have been ordered and placed, business cards are in and the trailer is hooked up to the van. I can't believe we're getting so close to opening day. Come on spring!!!

The greenhouse gets plastic!

We're starting this year off right with finishing up the greenhouse!! We are beyond excited to move from our little greenhouse attached to the chicken pen to this nice spacious greenhouse! We thankfully had a lot of help. Rodney, Robbie, Ben, Dave, Abby, Emily, Ella Claire and Benjamin all helped Perry pull a corner or two. I can't wait to start some winter greens and baby seeds in here.
