Feasting Hall update

Now that the feasting hall is usable, we will continue working on finishing touches, but Perry wanted to jump on the next section while he has the time. These rocks will be some of the floor of the kitchen that will be added on to the back of the hall. Perry, Abby and Emily took multiple trips up the mountain behind the sawmill to grab these babies with the four wheeler and trailer. They're so heavy they could only get a few at a time.
The posts have been set. Next up, the roof will be extended and rock floor will be dug out.

New solar lights that really make it look good and stand out at night!

Now for my absolute favorite addition....CAFE LIGHTS!!! Thank you Carolyn for my perfect birthday present.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

Ah, the weather has just been perfect for a few fires and family time!

EEk! I love lights!

Around the house in april

Scully in one of her favorite places to sit...Ella Claire's lap.

Besties.

And what happens when she "borrows" your phone!

Homemade biscuits with goat milk and freshly milled flour.

Hamburger buns from freshly milled kamut. Yummy!

Emily got a fancy braid from the one and only EC.

Deep South Herbal Conference

Abby was asked to teach again at Darryl's conference! This year they are trying it out in Mentone. I didn't care for it as much. Cheaha was just such a cool place to stay. Oh well, it was still fun!

The Highland Herbalist at the Deep South Herbal Conference.

This year they let everyone set up a booth to sell all their goodies. We did pretty well with my baked goods and Abby's herbal products. It paid for our trip, so that's nice!

We camped with D for the night. She stayed in her van and Abby and I slept in the Suburban.

Road by to see the old house. Look at that garage they added on!

And we stopped to visit with Papaw, D and Mamaleta since we were so close.

Lunch was great as usual!

Looked through old pictures at Mamaleta's house. This is a picture of Julia Hays, Papa Perry's grandmother.

This is Mamaleta's mom (Vernie) when she was a young adult. Dancing away.

We stopped to visit Carolyn as well and she sent us home with a quilt for Emily made by Big Granny (Myrtle), Carolyn and Nonna's mother.

The very next weekend after the conference, Abby had a homestead herb walk for a lady and her friends at the lady's home. This was one of many on her schedule. Our herbalist is getting very busy.

Ramps and Slip and Slides

Abby and Emily went ramp hunting with Mac and Lesa today. They brought home a major hall!

The outhouse shower came in very handy for this!

The littles got to test out their new slip and slide from Mike and Amber!
