Around the house in October

Muscadine wine in the making. We picked A LOT of muscadines while we were at Mamaleta's. It was a good year for them.

Our beautiful driveway in the fall!

I've never been in NC for the fall. I'm so excited to see all the colors.
The view from 3/4 up the mountain behind our house.
More school work practicing her letters. She's doing very well with her reading and writing.

Big tree on the way up our mountain.

We stopped by Publix on our way home from Alabama and I thought she was going to bust!

Emily giving Ben Ben a haircut. She's getting pretty good at it. He needs one pretty bad.

He gives her two thumbs up!

Visiting D's house

Being in Alabama every other week we visited with Papaw and D a lot as well. These three cousins were slaying dragons. Ben Ben loved pushing the scary doorbell.

Foxfire

I started a new job in Murphy along with some yoga classes. A couple from class told me about this place called Foxfire. I had heard of the books but had no idea there was a walking museum of the place. They were having half price homeschool days so of course we had to visit. The place it amazing. I can definitely see Abby working at a place like this. The need an herbalist. Too bad it's an hour and a half away from home.

Ben Ben loved the blacksmith. He didn't take his eyes off the whole presentation.

Moore house. Of course I had to get a picture of that one for Granny.

Trying to walk on stilts. We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed a little fun and games around the picnic area.

The chapel.
The smoke house. They moved all of these cabins here to the property for preservation and so that people could come learn and enjoy. Really cool place.

EC on another part of the AT on the way back from Clayton, GA where Foxfire is located!

Franklin

We stopped by the farmer's market in Murphy for some yummy honey before heading to Franklin. He was just too cute in his sunglasses and Davy Crockett hat.

We pulled over at the scenic view for a couple of breathtaking moments and pictures.

I just can't get enough of this beautiful view.

Franklin's awesomely huge pumpkin display!

Bridal falls.

Unfortunately this was the last waterfall we got to see. Apparently this is tourist season and the hottest place around. I've never seen such traffic or selfishness with people determined to see these waterfalls. We made it to highlands, saw the pottery studio and school and got right back in the traffic. Perry wasn't happy with me about that one. Oops.
