Clickin' away....

So the new camera came in on Thursday and I haven't stopped clicking yet. I love it! I don't know a lot about it yet, but I am slowly but surely figuring it out. It's been raining so much here lately that I have not been able to get outside much with the camera yet. Today has really been the first nice day in what seems like weeks! So that means I will be taking some more shots today. As soon as I get those taken and downloaded I will share. Here are a few random shots.

New camera....check!

Okay, so I finally bit the bullet and bought the camera. It did cost a pretty penny, but I think it will be well worth it. I did get the Canon 50D, which is suppose to be an awesome camera. It's like the top of the line amateur camera. It's 15.1 megapixels, so it should be a really clear picture. I am so excited!!! It should be here on Friday, so I guess you know what I will be doing all weekend. You guys can start signing up for photo shoots now!! They might not turn out all that great, but it will good practice for me!!

Seriously though, I do need the practice! Just let me know if you would like to be a model and I will take some shots!

Brain overload....too much information!!!

My brain is seriously overload with info about cameras! I had no idea there was so much information out there and so much to consider when looking at buying one of these things. There's SLR, APS, focus, lighting, ISO, zoom lens, telezoom lens, prime lens, megapixels, EF, EF-S, etc., etc., etc.,.......AHHHH!!! I am a beginner of beginners and have no clue what most of this stuff is, but I want to get the best camera I can afford. I have read and read and read about cameras and finally decided on this one (I think!). It seems to be an awesome camera from what little I understood. More than I will need I'm sure! If anyone has any other suggestions or comments, please help. Here's a picture of the camera.

Brave Dave

Okay, so this one is back tracking a little too, but I had to share. We took a trip to NC this summer and had an absolute blast. The last day of the trip we decided to go rafting down the Nantahala River. The night before the rafting trip occurred, my dad decided to try out his kayak down the class III rapid at the end of the river. He's a beginner in the world of kayaking, but loves a challenge. So I had to grab my camera and capture the entire experience. He earned the nickname "Brave Dave" from Byron and Candace for this one because he was willing to try!!! Check out the pics and see if you agree with the new nickname!! (I'll tell you that I sure wouldn't have done it in a kayak!!)

P helping Brave Dave into the Kayak. Getting buckled in and ready to go.

Paddling around in the water before going to the rapids. All smiles for now!!!

Starting to get into the rapids a little. That water is REALLY moving fast. Believe me, I know!

Now to the rapids!! Look at Brave Dave go! If you look closely you can already predict what is going to happen! Should've gone right man!!!

Oops! He's trying to do the roll here. Look at the top of the kayak, you can barely see the tip of the paddle that he's trying to use to roll himself back over.

Oh well. He had to bail. Everything is in the water now. The paddle and kayak are trying to float down the river without him.

Brave Dave manages to save the kayak and the paddle. Now he just has to get himself and all the gear to the bank!

Floatin' along!

Ahh....back safely on dry land. Go again???? :)

Playing at the creek

This summer we spent a lot of time down at the creek that runs through the back of our land. It's a great place to play, relax and have fun. The kids love it, the dogs love it, even mommy and daddy love it!! Hear are just a few of the snapshots we took while playing.

PIctures from our trip to PC beach in June 2009

We took a trip to PC beach this year. A has been with Pop and Nonna before, but this was E's 1st trip. We had a great time and all came back with a nice tan. Thanks to Aunt Carolyn for letting us stay in the condo! :)

How sweet!!
