Around the house in November

The VFW asked Perry to be in the Veteran's Day parade this year. He agreed and thought everyone would be marching so he lined up to march. Well, everyone else jumped in their trucks and drove the whole way. He and one other were the only ones walking. Needless to say, Perry was not a happy camper and probably won't participate again. He did however make it to Instagram though. lol

Abby, The Highland Herbalist, was featured in the local paper called the Cherokee Scout, for her tincture class with the Ladies Homestead Gathering Group.

Abby happy to have Hoogie home and Hoogie very happy to be home.

EC styling as she heads out to piano lessons.

And this is what happens when I leave my phone unattended!

Ben Ben is all about building with whatever materials are around.

View from the top of the hay barn.

New drawing pads! Lots of new white paper to fill up! Thanks Aunt Carolyn.

Pups

These three faces own me! I got them all to sit and look my way by asking it they wanted a treat.

Mama dog - Scully Bug

Gretel (unfortunately we sadly lost this precious puppy a week after this was taken to parvo)

Snippin, Trippin, Pippin

Handsome Hansel. This little turkey already weighs 25 lbs.

These big puppies disappeared on Fri., Nov. 19th. They were gone for 10 days. We just knew they were gone for good. I put their pictures on facebook and the next day they showed up less than a mile away at the wedding venue down the road from us. The grounds keeper saw them and put a different post on facebook. Wendy saw his post and sent it to me. Perry and I went and picked them up and surprised the little ones with them at 8:00 pm. We are beyond glad they are home safe and sound. We figure they ran after something in the woods and then just got lost. The groundskeeper said they had only shown up the day we picked them up, so they were in the woods until then we think. Some of the nights they were gone dropped down into the teens and it rained a couple of times too. We were so worried and figured we'd never see them again. We're so glad they are back. EC's face says it all.

We were going to let him sleep inside, but he was so happy to be in his bed we just left him there. He was exhausted.

Feasting Hall update

While Perry and the big girls were working on the feasting hall,

these two decided to build their own little cabin from all the scraps. So creative!
And they were very proud of themselves as well.

Getting all the floor joist level.

The littles are having a blast balancing across the beams.

It's slowly but surely coming together.

Thanksgiving at the cabin

I didn't snap enough pictures on this day, but at least there's some proof.
We had a good crowd that included: Granny T, Jim, Pop, Nonna, Me, Abby, Ella Claire, Benjamin, Jack, Laureen, Richard, Vicky, Frank and Becky.
We all enjoyed a wonderful meal, several rounds of Uno (that EC won all of), and good company.

The Highland Herbalist Salves

The Highland Herbalist officially has her salves in a store. It's so cool to see her products out there and hear people's testimonies about them. So far, her deep healing salve is a hit and she's already had a second order for more of that one. Deep Healing salve is kind of the flagship salve. Other salves she has include a pain salve, one for bug bites and stings, an infection salve, Knitter's Knuckles and a Gardener's Hand Salve. I can't wait to take her around to more stores to start selling more.

Shooting practice

When the weather is nice and the sawmill is down, you have target practice!

Pop and Nonna gave Benjamin 200 .22s and they've been itching to put them to use.

And Nonna brought her revolver to practice with too.

Scully wasn't having it though. She didn't like the loud sounds.

Pop and Nonna brought the littles a 'little" happy gift. They both got new laptops! Now they can play their learning games again. EC said, "I feel like a big kid now!" That smile says it all.

Friendsgiving 2022

Oh my favorite time of year! I love this time of year and these people that suffered the cold this go round! Friendsgiving 2022 was a grand success. We had a good turn out even thought the weather was a little chillier than I'd like. At least the sun was out! We ate lots of good food, the kids played hard, we stayed warm around the fire and lots of good fellowship happened. I'm beyond thankful these people put up with my shenanigans of wanting a good picture. They are all truly good sports. We had old friends and new friends and it was all wonderful.
From left to right Katarina and her husband AL, Cameron, Trevis and their three girls Paisley, Danika and Kalette, Paul and Jonnie, all the way in the back Robbie G, Betsy and Jeff, Infront of Betsy Faelyn, Meg and Perry, Mac and Lesa, Pawpaw Ben, Donna, Ashton and Ella Claire, Steve with Benjamin on his shoulders in the back, Granny T and Papa Jim, Wendy, Angela and Scarlett, Kent holding Kinzie and Brooke holding Hansel, Emily holding Pippin, Pop and Nonna, and Abby holding Gretel.

Getting a list of names ready so Jonnie can make nametags!
Happy Friendsgiving!

Nonna the puppy whisperer.

They were completely worn out!

She may or may not have been faking the sleep here. lol

They eventually passed out from all the fun and excitement of the day. They had a great time with lots of other littles to play with. I love these kinds of days!

The Amazingly Adorable nametags Jonnie made for everyone. I couldn't love these any more!
