Around the house in June

Abby fried some elderberry flowers and they were delicious!

Ella Claire's creation with Emily's hair. She did a pretty good job there!

The garden always looks so pretty this time of year.

Babies goats are growing!

Baby billy, Hans is a sweet guy. He'll be looking for a new home with his own ladies soon.

Emily turns 17!

Pretty birthday girl. Happiest of birthdays sweet Emily!

Happy Birthday Emily!! I can't believe it! This year we stayed kind of low key. Emily has wanted to fix her teeth for a while, but there was always something we had to do first. She finally had her last tooth pulled and we sent off for the byte aligners. Thanks to Carolyn, Pop and Nonna and Granny T and Jim for helping make it possible to get this girl some straight teeth. I can't wait to see the comparison from this year to next with her smile!

Bees

Checking on the bees. So far so good. They are healthy, happy and busy!

A frame slap full of honey. This is just so cool! Abby has decided to name our honey, Highland Honey. I think it fits pretty well. It won't be long and we'll be extracting some of that honey!

Look ma! I'm still handling the bees.

Bee bridges. These ladies are so cool.

Abby had a bee find her way into her veil and landed on Abby's nose. Abby swears the bee kissed her on the nose and when the veil came off (which was rather quickly), she just flew off.

Our pretty, pretty beekeeper.

Carolyn found out these two wanted to get up close and personal with the bees, so she sent them their own mini sized bee suits. Aren't they just the cutest little beekeepers you ever did see!?!

Look ma, I'm doing it!

Of course, he had to get his hands in there too. He has actually gone out with us every time and loves watching the bees. He still hasn't been stung, so I'm waiting to see if he keeps going with us after that.

Blairsville Highland Games

A Hay, A Hay, A Hay

When a Highland Game is less than an hour away, you have to go! This game was canceled for so many years and it's just so good to see it come back. Meeks Park is a beautiful setting. The kids really love this one since there's a nice creek to play and cool off in.

Mac and Lesa joined us.

Phew that's a lot of grey hair.

Besties.

Clan Mac Gregor.

Clan Hay.

We found this while looking for Scottish festival dates. This is the website for the Taste of Scotland in Franklin. The picture is from 2015 and they still use it to advertise with. A Hay!
