Around the house in October

Abby playing with her new Vitamix graduation present from Carolyn. She can really do some heral formulas now! (Just don't breathe in when there's poke involved...lol)

Carolyn came to visit and we decided to enjoy a bonfire on a beautiful fall day.

My favorite color is October!

New bridge on Genesis

Perry dragging the logs from the woods.

One of many black locust logs to create the bridge.

 These guys are super heavy!

Getting the foundation down.

The final project. Benjamin couldn't wait to go see the big machines and the bridge itself.

First fire of the season and in the new flame view

Isn't she a beaut! She keeps us so very warm, cooks on the cooktop and adds a quaint ambiance to our little entry way. We love it.

Fire's Creek

Perry and I found a new Chiropractor in Hayesville and on our way back we decided to stop and check out what the fuss of fire's creek was all about. Boy it did not disappoint. Of course, it was a fall so beauty is abundant, but this area was gorgeous. I can't wait to bring everyone back.

And do some photos here!

We may have found a yellow root honey hole there as well!

Fall Leaves

If there's a pile of leaves, there's a great chance there are children and possibly dogs waiting to play in them.

My Hoogie buddy.

Crazy Munin.

Now that's more like it. Sweet Mu Mu girl.

Silly Scully.

Sweet girl.

Bread

I've been wanting to do a whole step by step demo of bread baking, but this is the closest I've managed to get. Here is the dough straight from the mixer.

Look at how much it rises!

The finished product needs to be 190* straight from the oven.

Letting it cool and trying not to cut into it and spread butter all over it to eat! Yum!

Pumpkin Patch

We joined our CC friends and green girls for a pumpkin patch field trip right over the line in TN. It's a cute little farm and the kids had a blast.

He needs one at home!

Baby goats are the best!

Lucy and Ella Claire.

Fox Grapes!

Perry was bushhogging and cleaning up around the edge of the field one day and noticed a massive grape vine. As he looked further up he noticed all these tiny grapes. He got Abby up in the bucket of the tractor to pick all the clusters. There were tons of them. They are so very yummy and flavorful! It's like eating a handful of grape nerds. Now Abby is going to make some of the best wine around from these babies!
