Around the house in January

We added Hamish the sheep to our herd. He's a Shetland sheep that will hopefully provide us with so amazing wool.
Emily helping the littles with their finger painting skills.

Benjamin learning to play his own keyboard.

EC excited about her new lego beauty and the beast castle.

The new pantry door and furnace organizing shelf Perry built! Now we have a place to keep all of our newspapers and carboard for starting fires in the furnace.

And the best part... the new door is a Dutch door! How stinkin' cute!

EC's  nature hunt creation. We walked through the woods gathering items we could make a creature from and she did a great job being creative with all of her pieces.

We finally have a propane heater that works. This is perfect for those mornings that aren't quite cold enough for a fire, but you still need a little warm up.

Benjamin testing out his new weed eater. It's just like Dada's. He spotted this and the leaf blower at Wayne's feed store and just had to have them. He came up with a plan that Carolyn could buy one and Nonna could buy him the other. My goodness.

The girls and their new survival bags from Carolyn.

Ben Ben showing me his shop and how he organized all his tools just like Dada's.

Finally painting the downstairs basement area we are using as a living room at the moment.

Crazy thing took a selfie on my phone!

Posing in the snow for mom. He was too cold!

Abby turns 18!

Somehow I had a baby, turned around once and she was grown. I, and countless others, say it every year, but I really don't know how it happened so fast. We are beyond thankful for this girl and everything she adds to our family. This year we celebrated big! Everyone came over for a birthday dinner and we reminisced about all of her years. She was showered with all kinds of wonderful gifts and even though parties like this really aren't her thing, I think she rather enjoyed it. Happy 18th Birthday Abigail Brooke! We love you so.

Emily snuck up to the cabin to bake these adorable (and yummy) mushroom shaped sugar cookies with Nonna. They turned out perfect.
Emily also made Abby a honey cake for dessert!
Amanita mushrooms.
The birthday girl.

I didn't manage to get a group shot unfortunately, but here's a list of all that came to celebrate! Pop, Nonna, Carolyn, Granny T, Papa Jim, Papaw, D, Paul, Jonnie, Cameron and her girls Paisley, Danika and Kalette. We had a house full!
Benjamin wanted to help her open all her awesome gifts of course.
Now this is where Abby would rather be!!

Greenhouse gets plastic!

Stretching a piece of plastic this big is always a huge task and takes all hands on deck!
The hardest part is getting it all smoothed out so it looks flat.
Now to start filling those beds with some good leaf litter, sand and compost!
It's coming together!
The fog is crazy!
