Around the house in February

I love these warm days in the middle of winter where we can open the windows up and let the house air out a little. Hurry up spring!

He was so excited about 'his' big truck magazine that came for 'him' in the mail.

He pointed to everything on every page and either told me what it was or asked me what it was. Then he said either Pop or Dada has that. My goodness he's all boy!

And this one is all girl for sure and certain.

Best buds.

She loves her pretty pink ukulele. Even if she's playing it like a guitar.

Greenhouse - starting seeds!

Yummy broccoli. It did so well this year in the greenhouse.

Broccoli and lettuce for days!

Filling biodegradable mesh bags this year instead of styrofaom cups. Better for the environment and we can get more on the table to sell. They're a little bit more time consuming but we're gonna try them out and see if we like them. I'm not sure how on earth I'm going to label them all yet.

Herbs, herbs, give me all the herbs!

Hundreds of bags have been filled. Now to sell them all!

First little tomato peaking through!!

Flood of Big Canoe Creek

We were featured in another edition of the Discover St Clair magazine. They even used some of my pictures for the front cover! Come see us this season at BCCO.

This year we had another hundred year flood. This time the water levels got up to over 17! I had gone to the chiropractor that morning and when I returned home I saw Perry franticly moving all the boats to safety. He got the tractor out and moved the porta potty and then started back in the water to get the picnic tables. Thankfully the water didn't get any higher, but my goodness it was high enough. There will be a ton of cleaning to be done in the creek and around the property I'm sure. Rumor is the only reason we got so much water this time is because they didn't open the dam. :/

Right after I took this picture this little booger bit Emily. No more picking up little wild rodents!

Carolyn's birthday

Since Carolyn is always surprising us with goodies we decided to throw her a surprise birthday party. Emily baked her a blueberry cobbler, we didn't tell her real age, we got her to wear the birthday girl pin and we bought her her very own Keurig machine. It was a good day and I think we actually managed to surprise her! Happy Birthday Carolyn, we love you!

Abby's first car

Abby has been saving her money for a car for a while now and she finally found the right one. This 2005 Subaru Forrester is a 5 speed, clean, peppy little car. We drove to Atlanta to pick it up and she paid $2100 cash for it. All those nights hostessing at Crazy Horse really paid off.

We drove straight from Atlanta to Crazy Horse to work that evening.

And of course the first thing she did the next day was put her kayak on top. Well after washing and detailing it.
