Strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrike!!!

For The Prissy Princess's 7th birthday, we decided to get away from the traditional at home birthday party and go BOWLING. Be prepared, there are a lot of pictures in this post. I condensed it down a lot, but all the pictures were so good I couldn't resist. Thanks to Pop for being our dedicated photographer for the day.

The birthday girl getting ready to roll that bowling ball.

The Princess in action.

Mommy and Little bowling for the Little Bit's first time.

Little Bit telling Cousin Drew all about it!

Little Bit and her new friend working together to get the ball down the lane.

Laura showing Drew how to rare back and throw the ball.

I guess Laura's tips worked! Here's Drew pointing out that he made a strike.

Granny T and the Princess discussing the scores.

Uncle Jay showing everyone how it's done!

Jay taking a break to hang out with Aunt Carolyn for a minute.

Our 3 little bowling champs taking a moment to pose for the camera.

All the guys hanging out while the kids bowled.

Pop says Daddy should get used to this!! Always asking Daddy for money! I don't even know how many ICEEs he bought that day!

Our smallest bowler of the day was Henry. He is almost 8 months and such a good baby!

Here he is again waving bye-bye. Everyone said he looked good on my hip! Hint Hint Daddy!

Jeremy, Katie and Abby piggin' out on some yummy Nachos and Cheese.

Granddaddy concentrating on getting a strike.

Bebe and Char. These guys are like another set of grandparents for my girls.

The Princess with her Bebe and Char.

The Prissy Princess and Char. We didn't know that Char was coming!
It was a nice surprise for the princess.

Papa Jim and Granny T enjoying the day. Over the the right it looks like Granddaddy and D are in a
serious conversation.

After all the kids finished their game of bowling we moved onto the yummy part of the day. I decided it would be easier to make cupcakes to take then to try to make a cake, cut it up and serve it at the bowling alley. Plus, I'm not so sure that any cake I made would turn out looking all that great. It might taste good, but who would ever be willing to find out! The Prissy Princess loves blue and purple right now, so what better way to celebrate a January birthday than with blue and purple cupcakes and snowflakes! If you look really close you can see the sugar snowflakes on top of the cupcakes. Her plates, napkin

s, tablecloth and goodie bags were covered with snowflakes. It was snowing the day we brought her home, so I thought it was a good fit for her birthday party.

Singing Happy Birthday!

Blowing out the candle.

Of course we quickly moved on to the next best part - OPENING PRESENTS!!!!

Look how exciting! Must be a good one. (This was her bracelet that she picked out with Granny T. It's a Precious Girl's Club charm bracelet that she can add to. I can't believe she's old enough to have nice things like that. She's getting so big.)

Little Bit was not so happy when she saw her sister getting presents without her. So thankfully a bunch of good grandparents realized this might happened and brought some gifts for Little Bit to open as well.
(Check out that look on her face! It's one of pure disbelief!)

Here's Little Bit helping her big sister open presents and opening one for herself as well.
The Prissy Princess didn't seem to mind.

She was opening her very first gift card. It was $15 to spend at Claire's (which she did the very next day!!)

Here's Cindy, Granny, Granddaddy and Bebe all watching the Princess open her gifts.

D, Courtney and Laura were all watching the fun too.

After the cupcakes and gifts, we decided to let the adults bowl. The kids were preoccupied with the new goodies and they were tired of bowling! I had coupons for buy a game, get a game free. We couldn't just let the free games go to waste!!

Mommy and Daddy bowling!

Laura and hair-cuttin' Katie bowling.

Rodney and Jeremy showin' off.

All in all I think The Princess enjoyed her magical day of bowling and partying. We had a great turn out and lots of fun. Thanks to all of you for coming and hanging out with us. You all made this a very special day for our Prissy Princess. I know she will cherish these memories for a long time to come.

Pictures to come....

This was the invitation we sent out for The Prissy Princess's Big Bowling Bash.
I think we did a pretty good job if I do say so myself!

Blog 2 Print

Over the past several months I have fallen in love with the blogging world. It seems to be an easy way to jot down those important memories in a quick manner and be able to share them with others no matter where they are. Being able to add pictures makes it that much more appealing too!

I got to thinking, is there a way to save all these precious memories. I know they are out in cyberspace forever, but just what if something happens and my memories disappear. I can't be doing this all for nothing. So I started doing some research. Maybe I could copy the blog and download it to my computer. That didn't really work out all that well and it took a lot of time.

Surely there had to be some way to keep my postings. Then I ran across Blog 2 Print. Perfect!! It's exactly like it sounds. You can take your blog and put it in print. And even better.....it was EASY to do! You can choose the dates you want to print, the front and back covers and even see the finished product before you order.

The starting price for a 20 page soft cover is only $14.95 and hard cover for $24.95. Then it's $0.35 for each additional page. I just bought my first 60 page hard cover book for less than $40. It has all our memories for the past year including pictures all in one book. I love that I will be able to hold it and flip through the pages to reminisce.

I normally like to scrapbook, but here lately there just seems to be no time. So I guess this will serve as the next best thing. For now anyway. Maybe I can pick up more scrapbooking in the summer when we are all out of school for a while.

Here is a link (hope it works right!) to a sample copy of my book. It is not the final version, but you will get the idea of how it works and what it looks like.

Out with the old and in with the new

And the winner is.......

A 2001 Subaru Forester.

Our new car is a greenish-khaki 2001 Subaru Forester with only 56K miles, one owner and no one has even sat in the back seat. It was a steal! We financed it for the same amount as we did the Rodeo 7 years ago! It has automatic windows and door locks, cruise, tilt, adjustable seats, a back hatch that stays open when you open it and many other things that I have never had in a car. It's also an automatic (that I am TRYING to get use to!). After 7 year with a stick shift it's hard not to try to push the clutch in!

I will miss the Rodeo, but I must say my new ride is growing on me.
Hopefully this will last me as long, if not longer than the Rodeo!

P.S. You'll never guess how much the Rodeo was worth!!! $900.00! Can you believe it. They offered us $700 for it and we took it. Can't really beat that considering all the work the Rodeo needed (thousands of dollars worth!!)

Big helpers....big mess

Helping mommy is always fun! It can also be a little messy though. I was making baked goodies to give out as Christmas presents and the girls insisted on helping out! Their job was to make the chocolate covered pretzels. What is more fun than playing in chocolate?? Making a mess with chocolate. All in all the girls did a great job and really didn't make that much of a mess. Of course mommy was there to wash their little hands as soon as they were finished.

I think there is more chocolate on Little Bit's face than on the pretzels!!
