Outfitter

This covid thing has really put a damper on our plans for this year. Everything is so uncertain. Governors are signing shut down orders, people are wearing masks and everyone has lost their minds. We are considered "non-essential" with our recreational rental equipment and they have deemed that we can't keep things clean enough to be able to rent to people. It took us back for a minute but we came up with a plan to keep going for the moment. We don't have to have any interaction with campers so we kept the camp ground open. We also offered single shuttle and self shuttle options for people with their own boats. We couldn't technically rent, but we managed to let a few people borrow what they needed. People came out in droves to support local small businesses. A lot of people even went out and bought kayaks so they could continue coming out to see us. So many people bought kayaks there were none to be found in stores or craigslist. It was crazy. We managed to keep the doors open.

And then there were people like this. I still have no idea who sent this, but we are beyond thankful for their generosity. It was probably the biggest surprise I've ever experienced. Such an awesome thing. I hope to one day do something like this for someone.

Open and ready for a second season. Even if it is a weird one!

The new book is starting to get filled up with shuttles.

Thankfully she still loves to sing and swing. I think she could stay here for hours.

Waiting for boats to get back.

This year Scully has really matured and we've been able to let her come hang out with us at the outfitter. She doesn't bark at anything that moves anymore, hallelujah, and she loves to greet guests by rolling over so they can pet her belly. Everyone loves to see her and our repeat customers know her by name. She still isn't too keen on other dogs coming into her space. We have to keep her in the office when we see other dogs. We have had a couple of repeats that bring their dogs and they've let us try to train Scully with their dogs. She chills after a while, but she still isn't happy about sharing her attention with others. lol

Scully and I are ready to get this season kicked off.

Abby keeping the fire going for our returning kayakers in case anyway pulled an Emily and found their way out of their boat and into the water.

The mouse slayer. We had an infestation happen over the off season, but no worries. Scully got them all. I think she killed something like 24 by the time it was said and done.

Taking a break after all that mouse killing. It's a ruff life.

Ready for the next person to say hello to. Just maybe they will pet my belly.

If you're sitting, she wants in your lap!

She enjoys the hammocks as well.

And she runs to the golf cart to go for a ride if she thinks anyone may be leaving.

She also loves to ride the 4 wheeler. She will jump up the second you turn around. Please don't leave me out of all the fun.

Princess helping daddy take the 4 wheeler down to the take out for the day.

Of course Ben Ben has to hop on too. I love that little hat on backwards.

Bringing loads back from their kayaking adventure.

And the roadie crew to help off load the boats.

It was a long day.

Hanging out after the guests are gone.

Silly faces.

EC getting in on the action and trying to mess with her brother.

My turn to mess with you!

Squishy face.

It's all fun and games.

Cutie patootie.

We still had campers thankfully and these guys brought the bus! It had no problem coming down the trail behind the shop and everyone loved seeing it set up.

BFF. Macy and Ella Claire.
