Around the house in August

Emily and I made a trip to visit Carolyn and of course we had to visit Sam's as well. This is just a dent of the damages.

I was getting ready for work and Benjamin was getting clothes on for the day. When we saw each other again, Ben Ben realized we were matching and he wanted to document with a picture. Sweet little thing.

Of course while we were visiting Carolyn, we had to swing by to see our very first house. My how the area has changed!

The painting Emily did for Carolyn's kitchen wall. It turned out amazing!!!

Yummy cinnamon rolls and hamburger buns about to go into the oven!

Scully has never been a water kind of dog. She'll get her toes wet in the creek, but you can forget the pond. Well...until someone throws a rope tied to a stick in the pond that is! Crazy thing goes nuts for the end of that rope.

And doesn't mind diving in all the way apparently.

All 3 puppies waiting for their turn to jump in.

It's a new Scully!

Ella Claire's new favorite move is Troll Hunter. This is her lego version of the troll hunter's truck and camper rig. It's pretty spot on!

The stove arrived and now it's time to plug it up to the chimney so we can actually use it this winter. We called several chimney guys. Only one guy returned my call and came out to look at it. They said no problem we can certainly do that. Then NOTHING. No answers, no returned calls or texts.

So of course Perry to the rescue. We found a place to rent a massive saw and he started cutting.

It was a little messy to say the least and there were a couple of mishaps, but he got it done!

Of course, it couldn't just be an easy cut and done deal. There ended up being two terracotta pipes behind the rocks and he drilled into them both. Wouldn't you know it. He decided to fill the whole we concrete and make it connect all into one. Pretty cool!

Classical Conversations

It's Back to School season! This year we decided to try something new to us with the homeschool group and curriculum Classical Conversations. It's been around for a long time, but we've never tried it. Since there is no other co-op or homeschool group in our area, we decided to give it a go. After meeting with the other families for an orientation park night, I think we're gonna fit right in. It'll be great for the littles to be around some others their ages. Emily is going to go with me every Tuesday to help wrangle. Here's to the 2021-2022 school year! It's weird not having Abby there with us.

K-4

His little hair is growing so long. I'm the only one that's not a fan. Either way he looks so big and is a cutie!

1st grade

She's so stinkin' cute and ready to learn. She's so excited to be in 1st grade, whatever that means. LOL

Look, sometimes they are sweet to each other!

Sophomore
I can't believe she's in her second year of high school already. It won't be long before her senior portrait is on the wall too.

Abby wouldn't let me take her picture since she's not in "school" anymore. She is very excited to get a few hours to herself every Tuesday. She is still learning and taking classes with Darryl so she's still in school right!?! Oh well. I guess they let go at some time right.

Too cool with Dada's sunglasses.

Waling in together so sweetly. They were both a little nervous about seeing these new people again and trying something new. It was a great day and they both did an awesome job. We were all pooped and took a great nap when we got home!

Each week they have to do a presentation for class. Right now it's more like show and tell, but as they get older they will have to teach the class something each week with their presentations. EC took her Scottish purse and told everyone a little bit about her Scottish background. She did a fantastic job and wasn't shy at all.

Art skills.

OILS
She listened very well and her drawing turned out perfect.

Benjamin doing one of his presentations. He told his class about bagpipes!

Garden Goodies

Canning season is in full swing!

These beauties are huge. This pictures just don't do them justice.

Unfortunately, we ended up with a weird blight this year. We did get to can a good bit, but not near as much as we were expecting to. We've never seen this "diesel" disease before. It was really strange.

My beautiful Etuida orange Bells. It takes them FOREVER to turn colors.

Pepper sauce time!

I love canning green beans.

Our Zinnias and Marigolds did great too!

More Friday Night "Blu"grass at the NOC

The summer is starting wrap up and we only have two more bluegrass nights. I just love their bond and how they just hang out.

Sawmill

Well that didn't take long at all. Perry and Abby got the sawmill together in no time and they've been sawing away since. I have new shelves in the garage and pantry already! Whoohoo!

Good lord! This dog loves water. Even if it's filthy water.

My new shelves! Just beautiful!
