Planting the garden

Thankfully last week Daddy was able to come home for a few days and help us get our big garden started. It would have been a headache if the girls and I had to do this on our own. So far this year we have planted cabbage, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers and corn. I hope to get a couple more things planted, but this is a good start.

The girls and Shelby were making sure everything was ready!

Daddy planted the cabbage a few weeks ago and they are doing great! Hopefully we will get a lot of sauerkraut from these this year. Last year's batch didn't turn out so good.

These are my favorite pictures from the day. How precious is this! The girls hang on every word he says and he loves showing how to do things. Why can't everyday be like this?

Checking out what their finished product should look like.

After getting directions from Daddy, Miss Priss went to work. She planted every squash in the garden this year. There are 12 mounds with 3 plants in each mound. That's a lot of squash!!! Little Bit helped, but was quickly side-tracked.

Little Bit on a mission. Gotta love the work clothes (and jewelry)!

Little Bit getting ready to help Miss Priss and dig in the dirt.

The last 3 pictures came in a close second for my favorites of the day. I just love to see these two working together. They are two very special little girls for sure! And they did a wonderful job helping. We couldn't have done it without them! :)

Such precious pictures of precious people (except there's no picture of the precious one who took the pictures)!
