The Janney Furnace Civil War Re-enactment Dance is a favorite among this crew. Not only is it cool to watch the dancing, but its inside a huge barn for weather protection. It really does make you feel like you're either on the set of Gone With the Wind or back in the 1860s.
This year we will have our 3rd annual tomato plant sale. So far each year has gotten bigger and better! I love this new little venture and hope Canoe Creek Farm grows even more in the next few years to come.
Moving all the plants to cups is not everyone's favorite part of the game, but it sure makes me feel better and like we are closer to the big sale!
I am Meg Hays from a beautiful little town in North Alabama. I live here with my wonderful, hard-working hubby (The Woodsman), our beautiful daughters, Miss Priss (10) and Little Bit (6 and 1/2) and our dogs Shelby, Maggie and Annie. I am a christian, wife, mother, teacher, photographer, photo editor, scrapbooker, amatuer seamstress, vegetable canner, southern girl just trying to survive from one day to the next.
This is the most recent picture of all of us. It was taken at the Stone Mtn Highland Games.
My hubby
P is a great husband and father. He is always working on something whether it's his job, the yard, the shop, the house, the garden, the fences, the dogs or his own special projects. He keeps himself busy that is for sure. Despite all the hard work, he still manages to make time to hang out with me and the girls for some fun!! Here he is building a table for his shop. It turned out pretty cool. He can build anything!!!
Miss Priss
Miss Priss (10) is our oldest daughter and she acts like a stereotypical 1st born. She is a very, well...what's the word??....bossy!! She likes to take control of the situation and make sure things are done right! She is a very kind-hearted, caring, precious little angel. She is a wonderful big sister that is great at helping take care of her little sister.
Little Bit
Little bit is our youngest daughter (6 and 1/2). We call her our "spunky" child and boy is she! She is full of life and always has something going. Happy or piping mad, she doesn't have a problem letting you know how she feels at any given moment. Little Bit keeps us on our toes and we love every minute of it.
Shelby Ann
Shelby was kind of a present from P to me when we found out I was expecting The Miss Priss. He thought she would be a good companion for me as we awaited the arrival of our first born. Turns out it was the best idea ever. I still call her my pregnant buddy!! She thinks she is a person though! She was as big as the palm of my hand when we first brought her home. Now she's just a little over weight, but I still love her to pieces!
