Eloise Claire Hays arrived on March 19, 2016 at 11:15 am weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. She had a head full of dark brown hair and everyone was in love immediately. Everything went smoothly and we even got to go home early. Dr. Dey and Nurse Laura were wonderful and I couldn't have asked for a better crew. I can't believe we are now a family of 5! Here's to our new adventure!
We had to arrive at the hospital at 5 am. That's having to get up really early. Ugh. We were awake by 3 am and on our way by 4 am. Of course we have to be early in case we can't find the way or something odd happens. The process didn't really get started until about 8 am. I think they need to revamp their arrival times. Well, it's not like we really slept much the night before anyway! Oh well.
Before delivery...
After delivery.
Whew.
I'd a tried a little harder if I had known this picture would be taken. Ouch!
Miss Ella Claire's very first picture.
Love at first sight.
Our newest baby girl!
These fingers are yummy.
Emily checking out this new little grub.
The nurse explaining everything she does with a new baby.
First foot prints.
Abby doesn't look like she's too sure of this little thing!
Okay, maybe she's not too scary.
EC is already so loved and taken care of.
I don't imagine these hands ever being to far away from her!
Proud big sisters.
Emily insisted on holding EC. Abby wasn't quite as sure.
She was afraid this little baby might break.
EC didn't care who was holding her as long as she was wrapped up and warm!
So sweet and so excited.
The girls picked out this owl onesie to be EC's first little outfit.
They were amazed at how little she was and how big the outfit seemed.
Sisterly love. They didn't want to leave her side.
Getting ready to go home. EC was all dressed and ready to get out of there.
She was wearing her new smocked gown Pop and Nonna bought her just a few days before.
How sweet is that little face and that little headband!
We couldn't stop kissing that sweet little face.
Can't wait to get all this precious-ness home!
EC's first week at home:
The girls were an amazing help.
Emily's favorite was feeding EC her bottle.
EC has visitors and goes for her first visit:
Unfortunately my baby brain kicked in and I didn't get pictures of everyone that came to visit the new little princess. I did at least manage to get pictures with the great grandparents though. Good grief!
Since we left the hospital early, most people came to the house to visit. No one was expecting us to be home so soon. Two of EC's first visitors were Granny T and Papa Jim.
They were just a little excited to meet the newest member of the family.
Granny T and EC.
Mimi and EC.
EC, Mimi and Papa Perry.
Since Mimi had just gotten home from the hospital herself, we packed up and went to visit them at home. Two weeks prior to EC's arrival, Mimi had hip surgery. Not only did she have surgery on her hip, but she ended up hurting her foot in the process as well. There was no way we were going to ask them to come out and visit us.
They were both thrilled to meet the tiny new bundle too!
All the way from California, Uncle Doug came for a visit just to see EC!
Just kidding. He was here for Granny T's 70th birthday bash and stopped
by to visit with us too. Its been YEARS since we've seen him or his family
and we were able to have a nice visit!
EC's first bath:
After a few days of being home and having everyone love all over her, it was time for a bath. She wasn't so sure about the whole process to begin with.
What is this wet stuff and what is this woman doing to me?
Look at that sweet little face.
It wasn't so bad after all. Now for the lotion.
Baths really wear me out.
It just doesn't get much better than this!
Welcome to our crazy world Miss Ella Claire!
