Everyone who has been through a 4th grade history class in St. Clair Co. Alabama knows about the wonderful Alabama History 3-D project! I even did one when I was in 4th grade! Its a tradition around here apparently.
This year was a little different though. Instead of having the school full of 180 projects, the teachers decided to make it a writing contest. The top five essays from each class were awarded with the opportunity to compete in the 3-D project portion. Miss Priss just happened to take 2nd place in her class for her essay and away we went on creating a 3-D project to go with it!
Miss Priss's essay was about the old rock school here in town. She did a fabulous
job telling her classmates about the building and then she actually had to create a model of it. Rules are parents can help with dangerous parts, but the rest must be student work. So her she is busy on making it happen.
Of course it took several days to actually complete the project. Little Bit decided to jump in there and help out a little too!
Helping big sis is hard work and now its time for a nap with Shelby!
Our finished masterpiece:
She did an excellent job! The blue door at the back and the shrubbery really added a special touch!
