Scully Bug

So we've done it yet again. This will be the 3rd dog we've had this year and I hope we have better luck with her. I couldn't resist that sweet little face on the Blount County Animal Shelter's facebook page. She is half rat terrier and half red heeler and cute as a bug! Someone dropped off a whole litter of puppies at the shelter so she's only about 8 weeks old. I knew I wanted this one from the pictures so Emily, EC, BB and I made a beeline on Halloween to the shelter the next morning. Sure enough we pulled up to the gate and a line formed behind us. They were all there for puppies too. We were the first in so we got our pick!! We knew Miss Dana Scully Hays - "Scully" was ours!
Ben Ben waiting patiently to see all the dogs and cats.
She had to be the first to hold her!
Then BB got his turn!
And the holding continued.
She was so tiny and slept a lot!
Maybe the bed is too big?
She and BB are becoming fast friends.
Playing in Scully's bed with her.
Still sleeping and starting to grow into her bed.
She's growing so fast they won't all be able to fit much longer.

Around the house in October

October is one of the best months around, if not the best. We can leave doors and windows open, wear shorts or pants and play inside or out. We sure do love fall around here.
Lucy and Benjamin playing on the activity board Perry made. Benjamin has to make sure his car is running correctly!
If Ben Ben can fix a car, so can Ella Claire!
Fresh air throughout the house!
Marnay with her new crochet needles and scaring the littles with the lights.
Ben Ben loves his smoothies. I can sneak all kinds of good stuff in there! Good job Buddy.

Campfires and smores

EC has discovered the joys of camping this year and has made Perry and the girls start fires and camp with her in the woods several times already this fall. I'm not quite ready to take Ben Ben camping yet, so he and I go back to the house to sleep. He sure does enjoy being outside and around all the camping stuff though. His time is coming and we'll all be able to go camping together soon. We had fires several times this fall and throughly enjoyed it. Pop came to hang out some, we played Jenga, ate soup and smores and just enjoyed the great outdoors right in our own backyard.
