Blairsville Highland Games

A Hay, A Hay, A Hay

When a Highland Game is less than an hour away, you have to go! This game was canceled for so many years and it's just so good to see it come back. Meeks Park is a beautiful setting. The kids really love this one since there's a nice creek to play and cool off in.

Mac and Lesa joined us.

Phew that's a lot of grey hair.

Besties.

We found this while looking for Scottish festival dates. This is the website for the Taste of Scotland in Franklin. The picture is from 2015 and they still use it to advertise with. A Hay!

Bama visit

Perry, Emily and Ella Claire made a weekend trip to Bama to visit and do some work for Mamaleta. A plumber was going to charge her $700 to replace a faucet and pea trap in the kitchen (where she supplied the parts too) and Perry said no way, no how! So he went down and took care of it for her. Emily had the grand idea of snapping a picture of everyone there.

Swimming

Rohan's family came to visit for the whole weekend not just to attend the class and they rented an awesome house with a pool. Of course, we accepted their offer to come over to play and swim! The littles have never been in a real pool before, and they loved every second of it. They immediately became fish. Picture above is the house from the 4 lane. We pass it all the time and didn't know it was a rental with a pool. It's the brown one closest to the top.

What an amazing view from the top!

She's been waiting for this day for forever!

Friends

These two are the best of friends and are an absolute hoot to watch grow together.

Their dads were deployed together forever ago and these guys met for the first time when Benjamin was 8 months old and Rohan was 5 months. Even though they live far apart, every time they get together they pick up right were they left off.
These are their serious army faces. They look just like their daddies.

They ran around the entire day while Abby was teaching class. They were in stealth mode and felt as though no one could see them!

MHF classes with THH

Scully didn't mind everyone looking at her! She's our official greeter and very good at it. However, she is not the best at showing everyone how to stay focused and listen.

Classes have begun at Mountain Hays Farm. The first class went very well with The Highland Herbalist, aka Abby, teaching a basic introduction to herbalism. She discussed what an herbalist does, how and why. She has class time lectures and discussions as well as plant walks to talk about different herbs growing in our area. The first class was a great success! She'll be teaching once a month from now through Nov!
